On Sunday, DCST finished in second place at the Rockford Early Bird Invitational behind host Rockford. After each meet, the coaching staff picks two swimmers, one girl and one boy, as the “Big Dogs" of the meet. Big Dogs are not only selected on their performance in the meet, but the coaches also take into consideration the swimmer’s practice attendance, work ethic, team spirit and sportsmanship. Congratulation to everyone who worked and rode on the DCST team float for the Sycamore Pumpkin Festival Parade. The float won second place in the Organization Category. Another congratulation goes to DCST swimmer Brett DeConinck. His Michael Phelps pumpkin won first place in the current events and news category for children ages 8 - 9 years old in the Pumpkin Festival’s Pumpkin Display Contest.

DCST begin the 2008 – 2009 Winter Season with an impressive win over visiting Ottawa and Dixon. Of the 105 swimmers DCST had entered in the meet, 25 were rookies getting their first taste of a real meet. The DCST coaching staff was extremely proud of their performances. The Mega Zone Championships consists of the top swimmers from 14 states (Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin). IL Age Group Championship Meet Results DCST had a very impressive performance at the Illinois Age Group Championship Meet last weekend at UIC. DCST was represented by 18 swimmers in 41 events. Out of the 41 splashes, DCST had 30 life time best performances which included 8 new DCST Team Records and 14 top 16 finishes.
